Anciet Egypt Entertainment Using Toys

Young children in ancient Egypt, just like today loved dolls. Of coarse there were some differences then today having to do with how they are made. Some dolls in the olden days were made by stuffing them with cloth. Others were carved with ivory or wood. A rare old doll was made from a carved piece of wood with bulbous at the bottom decreasing to a tiny top with shoulders and barely arms. Talk about deformed. They were also called paddle dolls and they had beaded hair. Since I've already weirded you guys out lets talk about the more common old dolls. These dolls have movable arms and are carved from wood. Models in wood or clay are cats, dogs, donkeys, mongooses, hedge hogs, and pig. Wow Egyptians sure were animal lovers.
